Steven McDougall – Technical Director

National C, National B Part 1, Scottish FA Level 1, 2, 3

Over 15 years of professional playing experience in Scotland with Airdrie United, Dunfermline Athletic, Dumbarton, and Glasgow Rangers. Steven has made 407 Professional appearances in the Scottish Premier League, achieving the First Division Championship with Dunfermline Athletic, Second Division Championship and Challenge Cup Winners with Airdrie United. Steven holds an ECDL and Advanced ECDL from Paisley University in Scotland.

David Shankland

David Shankland – Coach Development Manager

UEFA B, Canadian National A, & SFA/UEFA Youth Coaching Licenses

David brings a wealth of international coaching experience and an abundance of knowledge to his OPDL Development Manager and High Performance Coordinator role with the Burlington Soccer Club. He has coached professionally in a variety of positions and for a variety of Clubs including Greece, Romania, and his native Scotland. 

 

Steve Carroll

Steve Carroll – Competitive Program Manager

UEFA A License Prerequisite, UEFA B License, FA Youth Award, FA Youth Modules 1, 2, & 3

15 years of coaching experience in over 15 different countries spanning across 6 out of 7 continents. Within Steven’s coaching experiences, he has worked within professional academies within the UK for 8 years. During this time, Steven’s represented a Premier League Club globally hosting seminars, talent identification programs and delivering sessions to players and coaches.

 

April Syme

April Syme – Competitive Administrator

C License (in progress), Certified Personal Trainer (Canfitpro)

Over 1 year of professional playing experience in the Swedish Elitettan League and 5 years of semi-professional playing experience in the WPSL, W-League and League1 Ontario. Earned a full soccer scholarship to the University of West Florida and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science, Sports Management Degree in 2014. Has over 3 years of soccer and personal training coaching experience.

 

 
Taylor Gray

Taylor Gray – Grassroots Coordinator

Taylor graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honors Degree in Biology and a double minor in Philosophy and Chemistry. Afterwards, Taylor continued her education at Sheridan College, graduating with an Honors diploma in Practical Nursing. She has gained 10+ years of BSC coaching experience, starting with all-star, then gradually moved into other grassroots programs such as Soccer Skills, Summer Camp, and House League mentoring. Currently, Taylor is our Grassroots Coordinator and is responsible for Striker School, 1v1, Soccer Skills, Lil’ Burli, Embracing Ability, Summer Camps, March Break Camp Bayhawk Explorer’s. She hopes to continue her education in the sport and continue providing programs for all community players.
