Mark Worton – High Performance Manager CSA, UEFA and USSF A License Mark has over 40 years of soccer experience as a former professional player, University Coach, Provincial Team Coach, Scout and Learning Facilitator with Ontario Soccer. He has coached in Ontario for more than twenty (20+) years in the Ontario Youth Soccer League (OYSL), Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) and Ontario University Athletics (OUA)- the highest levels of soccer in the province. In 2018, Worton was awarded Coach of the Year in the OUA West Division. |

David Shankland – Coach Development Manager CSA A & Children’s License, UEFA B License, UEFA/SFA Youth & Children’s License David brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role with BSC. His experience as a player in England, Scotland and Canada brought him to coach. With 25+ years as a coach, David has served in various capacities around the world. Most notably as a member of the Scottish FA U17 Coaching team that qualified for the UEFA Championship and a head coach in both Romania and Greece. His vast experience in the Canadian soccer landscape (both BC and ON) and his passion for education and coaching are well served in his role with BSC.

April Syme – Manager of Soccer Operations (GU8-U18) C License, Children’s License (in progress), Certified Personal Trainer (Canfitpro) April has over a year of professional playing experience in the Swedish Elitettan League and 5 years of semi-professional playing experience in the WPSL, W-League and League1 Ontario. April earned a full soccer scholarship to the University of West Florida and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science, Sports Management Degree in 2014. She was most recently inducted into the University of West Florida’s Athletics Hall of Fame (2022) as a result of her Team’s 2012 Division II NCAA Championship. She has over 3 years of soccer and personal training coaching experience.

Danny Burnett – Manager of Soccer Operations (BU8-U18) C License, English FA Level 1, Certified Soccer Analyst (PFSA) Danny brings a wealth of analytical knowledge to our team through multiple certifications. As a former player who turned coach, his unique perspective and relatability are just some of his skills he will leverage. Armed with a German, English FA and CSA license, Danny will be responsible to ensure our players, coaches and BSC Tech team have what they need to be successful. Danny hopes to continue to share his love of the beautiful game to all our Bayhawks. |

Michael (Mike) Neptune – Manager of Goalkeeping NSCAA & OS Goalkeeper Diploma’s, Learn to Train, Soccer for Life Mike is the epitome of a Student of the Game and brings that thirst for knowledge to our players and program. As a former competitive youth player himself with a few Ontario Cup Championships under his belt, accompanied by his “soccer for life” Adult Championships, he has a holistic understanding. At present, Mike is the Head Men’s Goalkeeper Coach at the University of Waterloo and has been a Goalkeeper coach in our programs since 2010. Mike hopes to make a positive impact on tomorrow’s youth, on and off the pitch. |

Jamie Shannon – Technical Coordinator C License, B License (in progress) Jamie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role with BSC with 40+ years of playing and coaching soccer at various levels across Canada. Jamie earned an NCAA Div 1 scholarship at Syracuse University, where he was a 4-year starter and received offensive MVP. In addition to these accolades, Jamie is also a two-time Men’s Ontario Cup Champion, a two-time National Champion, and a former Member both of the Ontario Provincial and Canadian National Youth programs. As a BSC Alumni, Jamie carried over his passion and experience to become part of the OPDL coaching staff at the club. At present, Jamie is currently the coach of U13 and U17 Boys OPDL teams. |
