The BSC School of Soccer: Skills development program is open to all players U4 to U14 (2018 – 2008). It is designed by the BSC’s Technical Staff and overseen by qualified BSC coaches to improve the FUNdamental skills of recreational players.

Who is this program for?

This is a COED skills program intended for age groups U4 to U14. It focuses on introducing players to FUNdamental skills of soccer. Each session looks to provide an environment where players are exposed to essential soccer skills of evasive dribbling,  striking the soccer ball, and masterful passing . As the players get older, the program transitions to introduce sessions that will demand more of the player’s technical & tactical skills.

Striker (Winter)

Specialized training for goal scorers!

This is an individual skill development program designed for the more advanced player*

This program aims to improve and develop a player’s shooting technique. We strive to make each player more comfortable and confident in front of the goal, with the end result being more goals scored. This is done through an advanced curriculum developed by our highly qualified technical team and implemented by certified coaches. 

Who is this program for?

This Program is meant for age groups U8 to U13 and is intended for any BSC players, including recreational, competitive and OPDL players. Due to the demands of the sessions, it is not recommended that beginners to soccer take this program. There will be a maximum of 24 spaces per session. Players will be working in groups based on age and/or ability. 

What will be taught in this program?

This program will cover areas such as shooting first time, pressure finishing, volley/half volley, both feet finishing, shooting with power and finesse.

1v1 (Winter)

The Burlington Soccer Club is proud to offer specialty training focused solely on attacking! 1v1 school sessions run in the Fall and Winter seasons as part of our School of Soccer programming. 

Sessions will focus on mastering the ball and developing moves to help you beat defenders, including cutting, turning and feinting. With lots of repetition and touches on the ball, the BSC is confident that every player will improve their control and comfort. Players will become a much more effective and dangerous attacker on the field. Great fitness boost and high levels of effort for this individual skills development program.

Who is this program for?

Designed for players U8 to U13, players are grouped into age categories to ensure even competition and appropriate levels of challenge. Due to the demands of the sessions, it is not recommended that beginners to soccer take this program. Some prior experience is essential. Space is very limited. 

What will be taught in this program?

Sessions will begin with a ball mastery exercise to introduce and develop new skills, tricks and turns, before putting them into practice in a 1v1 situation. This will give players the chance for real game application of the skills learned.

Goalkeeper (Winter)

The Burlington Soccer Club is excited to offer specialty training for goalkeepers as part of the School of Soccer programming.

Who is this program for?

These supplemental training and development programs are designed by BSC Technical Staff and overseen by approved and qualified coaches. They are intended for players U8 to U12 of any skill level, however, certified coaches will separate the goalkeepers into two (2) groups at the field depending on their skill level; Essentials & Elite:

  • Goalkeeper Essentials programming is designed to improve the FUNdamental skills of our recreational goalkeepers. This is for entry level players only that are new to the position and/or playing House League.
